The Alcatraz Backpacker Hostel is situated in the very heart of Berlin`s most exciting district “Prenzlauer Berg”.
It is Berlin`s most popular address for young people, students, artists and creatives to live. The gay and lesbian scene is also strongly represented and the area is even often a scenery for movie productions.
We are right away at the main shopping avenue Schönhauser Allee and our hostel is surrounded by lots of highlights:

During the day the “Kastanienallee” is ideal for shopping, at night it becomes a partyplace. There is also the well-known beergarden “Prater” where you can enjoy a cool beer under old chestnut trees.

In the “Mauerpark” you can chillout, have a BBQ or exercise. At the weekend you can make a stroll on the nice fleemarket Next to the park there is the “Max-Schmeling-Halle” where big concerts and sports events take place.

You can easily reach the major attractions like the "Brandenburger Tor”, “Tacheles”, “Museums-Insel”, “Potsdamer Platz” etc. by public transport within 15 minutes.
