The Alcatraz Backpacker Hostel Berlin is centrally located in the middle of Berlins trendy district Prenzlauer Berg in former East Berlin.

Not far away from our hostel was the Wall, dividing Berlin into East and West. Now, only the “Mauerpark” commemorates this period of history. Today, Prenzlauer Berg is a vibrant district full of life where both residents and tourists stroll through its many shops, clubs, cafes, bars, nightclubs and restaurants.

Whether you are travelling by yourself, as a couple, with a bunch of friends or as a larger group: the Alcatraz Backpacker Hostel offers a friendly and cozy atmosphere for its international guests. The house was colourfully decorated by local graffiti artists and is a popular photo opportunity both for passers-by and our guests alike.

In our typical Berlin building we offer a cheap and individually styled accommodation with numerous completely free amenities. Among other things, you have a kitchen for communal use, lockable cabinets in the dorms, computer-terminals for surfing the internet (also wifi), table football and much more. Best conditions to spend a few nice days on a low-budget in Berlin!

Total and complete independence: that's what our appartments promise you. Equpped with your own bathroom, kitchen and common room with tv they are a marvelous alternative for those of our guests, who like to cook and eat for their own in their private kitchen.

Tickets can be bought 3 days before screening at one of the central booking-offices:

- at "Haus der Berliner Festspiele", Schaperstraße 24

Nobody needs to leave our hostel hungry in the morning anymore: for only 3.00 € per person/day we offer a small breakfast to our guests.

If you are interested, just ask at the front desk or book it directly from our webpage when making your booking request.

The entrance door to the hostel is secured with a code lock at nighttime. Please contact us via email, should you plan to arrive after 11 p.m. We will then share the access code with you.
